Board Goals for 2004-05

1. Implement the new Georgia Performance Standards in grades K-12. Focus on student achievement at the elementary, middle and high school levels and improve test scores in all subject areas.
   
   

2. Provide professional development that will enable teachers to instruct math more effectively in grades kindergarten through eight.
   
   

3. Apply for a state Pre-Kindergarten class to be housed at Elm Street Elementary.
   
   

4. Develop the 2004-05 school system budget reflecting state revenue reductions while maintaining quality programs and services.
   
   

5. Bid and complete work on Rome Middle School and Rome High School for interior painting and re-flooring during the ten-week summer break.
   
   

6. Bid the furnishings needed for the new Elm Street Elementary School. Create and implement a new Rome City Schools web site and new school web sites.
   
   

7. Begin Phase II construction projects at Main and West End when adequate SPLOST II funds have been accrued.
