How to Get to the Rome City Schools Central Office...from Atlanta

Take 1-75 North;

Take exit 290 to Rome;

From the exit ramp, turn left at the traffic signal onto Georgia Highway 20;

Take a left at the traffic signal at U.S. 411;

Make an immediate right turn up ramp to U.S. 41;

From U.S. 41, take exit to U.S. 411/Georgia Highway 20 South to Rome;

Bear to the right and follow Georgia Highway 20 into Rome. This becomes Turner McCall Blvd. which is one of the main thoroughfares in Rome.

At the traffic signal at East First Street, turn left and go three blocks;

Turn left onto East Sixth Avenue at the Post Office; go one block;

Turn right onto East Second Street and enter the Central Office parking lot, 508 East Second Street.

Take 1-75 South;

Take Exit 306 (Calhoun/Rome) from 1-75;

Cross U.S. 41 and bear to the left at the traffic signal onto Georgia Highway 53;

Follow Georgia Highway 53 for approximately 25 miles into Rome;

Georgia Highway 53 becomes Broad Street; go to East Sixth Avenue;

Turn left onto East Sixth Avenue (at Clyde Collier Photography); go two blocks;

Turn right on East Second Street and enter the Central Office parking lot, 508 East Second Street.

Take I-59 North;

Turn right onto 1-759 East;

Exit 1-759 at U.S. 411 East;

Follow U.S. 411 through Centre, AL and Cave Spring, GA;

Turn left onto U.S. 27 North into Rome. This becomes Turner McCall Blvd. which is one of the main thoroughfares in Rome.

Go to the end of Broad Street;

Cross Etowah River ( Charles Graves Bridge);

Follow South Broad Street to Cherokee Street.

Turn right on Cherokee Street

Go five blocks to school, 301 Nixon Avenue.

Turn left on East Second Avenue at traffic signal;

Cross Etowah River ( Second Avenue Bridge);

Go East Second Avenue until it dead-ends into East 12th Street; Turn left on East 12th Street at traffic signal;

Go one block on East 12th Street;

Turn right on Dean Avenue at traffic signal;

Go two blocks to school, 1502 Dean Avenue.

Turn right on Fifth Avenue;

Cross Broad Street and continue on North Fifth Avenue;

Cross Oostanaula River ( Fifth Avenue Bridge);

Go five blocks to Turner McCall Blvd.; .

Turn left on Turner McCall Blvd. ( US 27/GA 20) at traffic signal; Go three blocks to U.S. 27 North ( Martha Berry Blvd.);

Continue west on GA 20 (now known as Shorter Avenue);

Turn left on Elm Street at fifth traffic signal;

Go one block to school (behind West Rome United Methodist Church), 8 Elm Street.

Turn right on Watters Street;

Go one block to school, 8 Watters Street (comer of Spider Web Drive).

At next traffic signal, bear to the left on North Broad Street;

At next traffic signal, turn right on Calhoun Avenue ( Troy's Barbecue); Cross over viaduct on Calhoun Avenue;

At next traffic signal, bear left on Calhoun Avenue (Piggly Wiggly);

Go to the eighth street on the right side;

Turn right onto Atteiram Drive at traffic signal;

Go three blocks;

Atteiram Drive dead-ends into school driveway, 26 Atteiram Drive.

Turn left out of the Central Office parking lot onto East Second Street; Go half-block to Fifth Avenue;

Turn left on Fifth Avenue;

Go four blocks to Glen Milner Blvd.;

Turn .right on Glen Milner Blvd.;

Go three blocks to East Second Avenue;

Turn left on East Second Avenue at traffic signal;

Cross Etowah River ( Second Avenue Bridge);

Continue on East Second Avenue until it dead-ends into East 12th Street; Turn right onto East 12th Street;

At the traffic signal, cross Maple Avenue;

Go one block from Maple Avenue;

Turn left off East 12th Street onto Crane Street;

Follow Crane Street to school, 1400 Crane Street.

Turn left out of the Central Office parking lot onto East Second Street;

Go half-block to Fifth Avenue;

Turn right on Fifth Avenue;

Cross Broad Street and continue on North Fifth Avenue;

Cross Oostanaula River ( Fifth Avenue Bridge);

Go five blocks to Turner McCall Blvd.;

Turn left on Turner McCall Blvd. ( US 27/GA 20);

Go three blocks to U.S. 27 North ( Martha Berry Blvd.);

Go five blocks to Turner McCall Blvd.;

Turn left on Turner McCall Blvd. ( US 27/GA 20);

Turn left on Sixth Avenue;

Go two blocks to Broad Street;

Go east on Broad Street one block;

Turn left on Riverside Parkway (Chamber of Commerce/Citizens First Bank) Continue on Riverside Parkway to Veterans Memorial Highway;

Turn right on Veterans Memorial Highway at traffic signal;

At next traffic signal, turn right into parking lot for Rome Middle & High Schools; Rome Middle School is to the left: 1020 Veterans Memorial Highway;

Rome High School is to the right, 1000 Veterans Memorial Highway.

Turn right out of the Central Office parking lot onto East Second Street;

Go haIf-block to Sixth Avenue;

Turn left on Sixth Avenue;

Go one block on Sixth Avenue;

Turn right on East First Street at traffic signal;

Go three blocks to Turner McCall Blvd.;

Cross Turner McCall Blvd. and continue two blocks;

Turn right on Martin Luther King Blvd. at traffic signal;

Turn right on Watters Street;

Go one block;
