Scholastic Aptitude Tests
The Scholastic Aptitude Tests
results have been released for the 2003-2004 school year and
Rome High School students did an outstanding job! Rome High School
had 143 students take the SAT for an average of 1028 which is
two points above the national average.
Seniors at Rome High School
did even better. Of the 205 students in the senior class, 135
seniors took the SAT and scored an average of 1062! The top ten
percent of the senior class scored an average of 1395!
Superintendent Dr. Gayland
Cooper said he is pleased with Rome High School's SAT scores
and the consistency of achievement on the SAT. Rome High School
students have been at or above the national average for the past
five years! Dr. Cooper said, "There is a culture of academics
here where the teachers expect a great deal from our youngsters.
I think our students are striving to take more difficult coursework,
and that always prepares you for the SAT."
