Summer Opportunity Program


The Summer Opportunity Program will begin on May 26th and end on June 23rd.  May 31st is a holiday, and there will be no school on this day.  Students have been recommended for the Summer Opportunity Program for either failing one or more academic classes or for not passing one or more sections of the CRCT.  Students who have been recommended to attend have been given a packet of information on summer school which includes a yellow pre-registration form.  This yellow pre-registration form must be returned to the school by Friday, May 21st in order to reserve a slot for the student.  If you have a question as to whether your child has been recommend to attend, please call the school and speak to your child’s counselor. Below is the Summer Opportunity Information:


DATES:  May 26 – June 23 (No school on May 31st)
TIME:  8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
LOCATIONS: West Central, RTA (next to Main Elem.), Anna K. Davie
Breakfast and lunch will be served.


CRCT Retest


8th grade students who did not meet the required score for passing the reading and/or math section(s) of the CRCT have been invited to summer school to receive additional instruction in preparation for the summer CRCT retakes.  On June 22nd, students will be given another chance to take the CRCT in math.  On June 23rd, students will be given another chance to take the CRCT in reading.  The test will be given in the Summer Opportunity Program at 9:30 a.m. 

Again, if you are any doubt as to whether your child needs to attend the Summer Opportunity Program, please call the school and speak with your child’s counselor.
