August 2011

Dear students:

We have printed for you a “High School Ticket” that I want you to carry with you each day and I want you to look at it often. It is a reminder that you will be the Graduating Class of 2016! I will “punch” the ticket for you on May 18, 2012 as you leave Rome Middle School.

The ticket is not a free pass to high school nor can it be purchased with cash, checks, money orders, credit cards, or debit cards—the ticket has to be earned! There is work to be completed before you cross the parking lot to high school. You have to pass your classes, pass the CRCT in the spring, and have a good attendance record.

The simplest way to accomplish these three objectives is to (1) attend school each day on time, (2) behave yourself when you get here and (3) always do your best. You have the best teachers, the best technology, and the best facility of any middle school that I know of!  The teachers, counselors, academic coaches, and administrators are here to help you be successful. Please seek their help and guidance often.

There will not be any excuses made for not being successful on May 18, 2012. The expectations for success at Rome Middle School are extremely high—but so are the rewards.

It takes courage, dedication, and perseverance to graduate from high school and I look forward to watching you grow as you strive to become a member of the GRADUATING CLASS OF 2016!
