Rome Middle School faculty and staff welcomed students and their families in to explore all things red and gold during their Back-to-School Bash on Tuesday, August 3.
Welcome signs lined the pathway leading visitors to the front doors of the school where they were greeted by Rome Middle School’s leadership team. These students were busy passing out several pieces of paper detailing Rome City School’s COVID-19 protocols, as well as a map of the school and other important information such as class schedules, QR codes for bus routes, and more.
Teachers stood outside of their classrooms enthusiastically waiting to welcome their students back after a long summer. The laughter throughout the halls echoed the educator's sentiments as students couldn’t wait to discover what is ahead of them beginning on Thursday, August 5, the first day of school.
“I am so excited to see all of our families here tonight,” smiled Parke Wilkinson, Principal at Rome Middle School. “I am also really excited to meet our upcoming seventh-grade students tonight, as this is a lot of the student's first time in the building. I know they are eager to meet everyone as well. It’s going to be a great night.”
After locating each one of their classrooms, students were led to the cafeteria where they were able to pick up a backpack and all other school supplies needed to start the school year off successfully.
“We definitely want to thank several of our community partners for the very generous donations of school supplies for our students,” said Wilkinson. “Here at Rome Middle School, we are a family, and I am thankful that our community has bought into that as well.”
Frios Gourmet Pops were also onsite offering a sweet treat to students as they continued to celebrate the upcoming school year.
Wilkinson ended the night on a high note as he greeted several more enthusiastic students: “I am excited to have everyone back together and get this school year started!”
GO WOLVES!
